Jonathan & Frances (jwadams) > The piano, in it's initial state
Jonathan & Frances (jwadams) > It's a 7'6" Yamaha Grand Piano.
Jonathan & Frances (jwadams) > The basic tools of piano moving: a padded-ladder-like base, a pile of furniture pads, and a four-caster dolly with thick rubber pads.
Jonathan & Frances (jwadams) > The full view of the "base"; it goes under the long side of the piano.
Jonathan & Frances (jwadams) > First, they took off the cover. Then, they lifted up the left front (along the long, straight side) of the piano, and jammed a furniture pad under the pedals. That let them remove the left front leg. With that gone, they were able to lower the piano's long side onto the "base" they brought, and remove the rest of the stuff underneath. Add some furniture pads, ratchet down some webbing, and you have the piano as it is here.
Jonathan & Frances (jwadams) > Next, they got the piano onto the mini-dolly, and took it out the front door. Negotiating the turn outside was fun, but luckily there was enough space for it.
Jonathan & Frances (jwadams) > The piano goes down the driveway, towards the truck.
Jonathan & Frances (jwadams) > Onto the lifter.
